Speaker A:Welcome back to the Message series on the book of Proverbs.
Speaker A:On message seven, and in this message, we finish Proverbs, where prosperity becomes legacy.
Speaker A:At home, because you can build a business and still lose your household.
Speaker A:You can stack money and still bankrupt your children emotionally.
Speaker A:Proverbs teaches this.
Speaker A:A house is not built by cash, it's built by wisdom.
Speaker A:If you win outside and lose at home, you didn't win, you traded.
Speaker A:And this is message seven.
Speaker A:Wisdom at home, marriage, parenting, and legacy.
Speaker A:Prosperity.
Speaker A:Let us be clear.
Speaker A:Some homes are beautiful on the outside, but chaotic on the inside.
Speaker A:The couch is expensive, but the conversation is cold.
Speaker A:The kitchen is modern, but the marriage is fragile.
Speaker A:The kids have gadgets, but have no guidance.
Speaker A:So Proverbs steps in and says, by wisdom, a house is built.
Speaker A:Meaning the foundation of a home is not vibes, not romance, not money.
Speaker A:It is wisdom, understanding, and knowledge.
Speaker A:Point one of the message, you're not just paying for a house, you're building a home.
Speaker A:Proverbs 24:3 says, by wisdom, a house is built.
Speaker A:A house is bricks.
Speaker A:A home is culture.
Speaker A:A home has love and boundaries, honor and correction, prayer and discipline, safety and truth.
Speaker A:And you can't outsource this.
Speaker A:Unfortunately, you can't buy this.
Speaker A:You can't download this.
Speaker A:Because Psalm 127:1 says, unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.
Speaker A:That means if God is not building your home, you can build everything else and still be in vain.
Speaker A:Now, are you building a home or just funding a lifestyle?
Speaker A:Money can furnish a house, but only wisdom can fill it with peace.
Speaker A:Point two of the message is that parenting is prophetic.
Speaker A:You are aiming a life.
Speaker A:Proverbs 22:6 says, Start children off on the way they should go.
Speaker A:That verse is not magic, it's matrishit, its direction, it's training.
Speaker A:Your child doesn't just need school.
Speaker A:Your child needs structure.
Speaker A:Your child needs correction with love.
Speaker A:Your child needs a model of integrity.
Speaker A:Your child needs to see prayer as normal and truth as standard.
Speaker A:Because if you don't train your children, the world will train them.
Speaker A:And the world is not gentle.
Speaker A:Are you raising children or just keeping them busy?
Speaker A:And here's a prosperity, truth, legacy.
Speaker A:Prosperity is not just money left behind, it's wisdom passed forward.
Speaker A:Your child may not remember your salary, but they will remember your standards.
Speaker A:Point three of the message, a godly spouse is wealth.
Speaker A: Money can't buy Proverbs: Speaker A:In other words, character is priceless.
Speaker A:Now let's widen it.
Speaker A:A husband of honor is also priceless.
Speaker A:A spouse with integrity, loyalty, discipline and fear of God.
Speaker A:That is wealth.
Speaker A:Because a bad marriage would make money feel useless, a strong marriage can make a modest income feel rich.
Speaker A:So Proverbs is teaching us, don't choose based on looks only.
Speaker A:Don't choose based on money only.
Speaker A:Don't choose based on charisma only choose.
Speaker A:Choose based on character.
Speaker A:Marry well or pay forever.
Speaker A:And all of those who have been divorced say Amen.
Speaker A:Here are some applicable lessons.
Speaker A:Here's what wisdom at home looks like in practice.
Speaker A:1.
Speaker A:Build routines.
Speaker A:Family time, prayer meals, conversations.
Speaker A:Consistency builds security.
Speaker A:2.
Speaker A:Create a culture of honor.
Speaker A:No disrespect, no insults, no gossip in the house.
Speaker A:Discipline with love, not anger, not neglect.
Speaker A:Consistent correction and guidance.
Speaker A:Protect your marriage.
Speaker A:Date again, talk again, forgive quickly, address issues early.
Speaker A:5.
Speaker A:Teach stewardship.
Speaker A:Kids must learn gratitude, work ethic, money, sense and generosity.
Speaker A:1 Timothy 5:8 warns, Anyone who does not provide for their relatives has denied the faith.
Speaker A:So yes, work, provide.
Speaker A:Build.
Speaker A:But build with wisdom, not absence.
Speaker A:Provision without a presence is not fatherhood.
Speaker A:It's just sponsorship.
Speaker A:Here is some warnings for us.
Speaker A:Don't be so committed to your career that you become a stranger in your own house.
Speaker A:Success should not cost you your spouse.
Speaker A:It should not cost you your children.
Speaker A:It shall not cost you your peace.
Speaker A:And here's the encouragement.
Speaker A:God can restore homes.
Speaker A:He can heal marriages.
Speaker A:He can redeem parenting mistakes.
Speaker A:And he can build your household into a legacy that outlives you.
Speaker A:And God doesn't just want you prosperous, he wants your house established.
Speaker A:What does my family need from me that money can't replace?
Speaker A:Is one of the questions we should ask ourselves as we reflect on the message.
Speaker A:Another question is what pattern must end with me so my children don't inherit it?
Speaker A:And then ask yourself, am I building a home of wisdom or a house of comfort that with no character Let us pray.
Speaker A:Father, in the name of Jesus, build our homes by wisdom.
Speaker A:Forgive us for neglect, harshness and disorder.
Speaker A:Heal what has broken in marriages, in parenting, in family culture.
Speaker A:Teach us to lead with love and truth.
Speaker A:Help us to be present, disciplined and honorable.
Speaker A:Let our homes be filled with peace and with prayer, with joy and integrity.
Speaker A:And yes, Lord, bless us with biblical prosperity, not only finances, but legacy children who fear God, marriages that stand strong and households established in your ways.
