Speaker A: Exodus: Speaker A:Welcome back, brothers and sisters, warriors of truth, to message number six in our no holds barred series, the seven things that God Hates.
Speaker A:Now, so far we've talked about proud eyes, lying tongues, violent hands, scheming hearts, and impulsive feet.
Speaker A:And just when you thought it couldn't get worse, here comes a false witness who pours out lies.
Speaker A:And let me say this from the jump from the start, this ain't your average liar.
Speaker A:No, no, no.
Speaker A:This is the professional, the weaponized tongue, the witness stand con artist, the person who uses influence, persuasion, and proximity to destroy people with lies disguised as truth.
Speaker A:We're not just dealing with fibs here.
Speaker A:We're not just dealing with little white lies.
Speaker A:We're dealing with character assassination in the courtroom of life.
Speaker A:And God hates it.
Speaker A:What is a false witness, brothers and sisters?
Speaker A:A false witness is someone who intentionally spreads lies to damage another's reputation, who bears fake testimony in official or public settings, who gossips as though it's fact, adds spice to a story just to make someone else look worse.
Speaker A:Says, I was there when they weren't even in the building.
Speaker A:It's lying with legal weight, lying with intention to wound, lying in such a way that others suffer for your benefit.
Speaker A:And let us be honest, brothers and sisters, Some of us have been false witnesses in the prayer circle.
Speaker A:You know how it goes.
Speaker A:Lord, I just want to lift up sister Cynthia who's been struggling with temptation and probably committed fornication with that gym instructor last week.
Speaker A:I'm just praying, Lord, just praying.
Speaker A:That ain't intercession.
Speaker A:That's spiritual slander.
Speaker A:And there are biblical examples of false witnesses.
Speaker A:It's not just you and I.
Speaker A:There is the trial of Jesus.
Speaker A: As we read about in Matthew: Speaker A:But they didn't.
Speaker A:Not didn't find any.
Speaker A:Though many false witnesses came forward, this is just the ultimate example.
Speaker A:Think about it.
Speaker A:Jesus, sinless and perfect, was condemned because people lied under oath, and the religious leaders invited the lies.
Speaker A:And there's also Naboth and Jezebel.
Speaker A:In 1 Kings 21, when King Ahab wanted Naboth's vineyard, Jezebel orchestrated a wicked plan involving false witnesses, and Naboth was stoned to death based on lies.
Speaker A:God judged it severely, and no one gets away with this.
Speaker A:Then there's Stephen's Martyrdom.
Speaker A: ,: Speaker A:Their lies led to spiritual stone, to his brutal stoning.
Speaker A:This showed the devastating cost of weaponized falsehood.
Speaker A:Now why does God hate false witnessing, brothers and sisters?
Speaker A:It violates justice.
Speaker A:God is a God of justice.
Speaker A: Proverbs: Speaker A:The Lord detests them both.
Speaker A:When a false witness flips justice upside down, God takes it very, very personally.
Speaker A:False witnessing also destroys lives.
Speaker A:A lie can ruin a reputation built over decades.
Speaker A: Proverbs: Speaker A:Think about that.
Speaker A:Your words become a weapon.
Speaker A:The false witness turns conversations into combat.
Speaker A:False witness also aligns with Satan.
Speaker A: vil's job title in Revelation: Speaker A:Now, when you falsely accuse, you're not just gossiping, brothers and sisters, you're.
Speaker A:You're doing the devil's job for him.
Speaker A:He might as well retire because you're on the job.
Speaker A:There is a spirit behind false witness.
Speaker A:It is the spirit of accusation.
Speaker A:Now, this isn't just about bad behavior.
Speaker A:Behind it is a spirit, a spirit of accusation.
Speaker A:The demonic influence feeds on jealousy, on envy, unresolved offense, and the thirst for control.
Speaker A:It loves, whispers, shadows and twisted truths.
Speaker A:And just like the devil, the spirit doesn't show up with horns.
Speaker A:It shows up with a concerned voice and a cup of tea.
Speaker A:It says, I'm just sharing this for your awareness.
Speaker A:You didn't hear this from me, but I just thought you should know.
Speaker A:But when the dust settles, reputations are shattered, relationships broken, and trust is crucified.
Speaker A:Now, how do we break free from being a false witness?
Speaker A:1 We repent immediately.
Speaker A:Proverbs 19:5 says, A false witness will not go unpunished.
Speaker A:And whoever pours out lives, lives will not go free.
Speaker A:This sin is not light in God's eyes.
Speaker A:Don't excuse it, don't justify it.
Speaker A:Repent fast.
Speaker A:Time doesn't heal.
Speaker A:This truth does.
Speaker A:We need to have the correct record.
Speaker A:If you spent falsehood, you.
Speaker A:If you spread a falsehood about someone, go back and fix it.
Speaker A:Please.
Speaker A:Yes, it's embarrassing.
Speaker A:Yes, it's hard.
Speaker A:But reconciliation is more righteous than saving face.
Speaker A:Be a voice of truth and justice.
Speaker A:Psalm 15:2 3 says, the one whose walk is blameless, who speaks the truth from their heart, whose tongue utters no slander, be that person.
Speaker A:Refuse to participate in character slaughter.
Speaker A:Silence is holy when gossip is hungry.
Speaker A:Have you ever played that game telephone as a kid?
Speaker A:You whisper something to one person and by the time it gets to the 10th person, please pass the salt becomes Peter slapped a squirrel in the mall.
Speaker A:That's how false witness works.
Speaker A:Small twists create massive lies.
Speaker A:Except in real life, squirrels don't get hurt.
Speaker A:People do.
Speaker A:Here are some questions for reflection.
Speaker A:1.
Speaker A:Have I ever spoken about someone before verifying the truth?
Speaker A:Do I exaggerate or slant stories to favor myself or harm others?
Speaker A:And why?
Speaker A:Do I need to apologize for words I twisted, shared or exaggerated?
Speaker A:Let us pray.
Speaker A:Lord, I confess I've let my words be used as weapons.
Speaker A:Forgive me every time I've twisted truth or damaged someone's name.
Speaker A:Remove the spirit of accusation from my life.
Speaker A:Make me a witness of righteousness, not ruin.
Speaker A:May my tongue bring healing, not harm.
Speaker A:In Jesus name, amen.
Speaker A:Brothers and sisters, my family, God hears your words.
Speaker A:Even the quiet ones.
Speaker A:Even the I didn't mean it ones.
Speaker A:Let's stop being microphones for the enemy and become messengers of truth in the next message.
Speaker A:We close this series with the seventh thing God hates.
Speaker A:A person who stirs up conflict in the community.
Speaker A:If you've ever been addicted to drama, stirred the pot just to watch it boil or clap back in the name of the Lord Jesus, get ready.
Speaker A:We're bringing peace to the war zone.
